Deputy Mayor of Wetherby, Connor Mulhall, rolled up his sleeves to spread some post-Christmas cheer as he joined the Wetherby Lions for their much-loved annual OAP Post-Christmas Party. Held at Wetherby High School, the event was a heartwarming celebration for the town’s older residents, filled with food, fun, and entertainment.
Councillor Mulhall took on the role of bingo caller, keeping the room buzzing with excitement as guests competed for prizes. Alongside him was Helena, Wetherby’s Communications and Events Officer, who worked with all the amazing volunteers to ensure the event ran smoothly. Together, they served up a delicious lunch, bringing smiles to the attendees.
The festivities didn’t end there. Following the meal, live entertainment filled the room with music, and the dance floor came alive as guests enjoyed an afternoon of dancing and laughter.
“It was a fantastic turnout and the Wetherby Lions do such incredible work for our community, it was a real privilege to be part of this event,” said Deputy Mayor Mulhall. “Seeing everyone having such a great time makes all the effort worthwhile.”
The annual Post-Christmas Party is a cherished tradition in Wetherby, providing a wonderful opportunity for older residents to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company in a festive atmosphere.
