A new temporary banking hub has opened in Wetherby Town Hall, providing essential banking services for residents and businesses following the closure of several high street bank branches.
The hub is part of a nationwide initiative to ensure communities continue to have access to face-to-face banking services, particularly for those who rely on in-person transactions. The facility will operate on a rotating schedule, with different banks offering services on set days.
Customers will be able to access essential banking services, including cash withdrawals, deposits, bill payments, and financial advice.
Local Councillors and community leaders have welcomed the move, recognising the importance of maintaining banking access for elderly residents, small businesses, and those without online banking.
The hub will provide a much-needed service and help ensure that people can still manage their finances locally.
Residents are encouraged to make use of the facility and check with their bank for specific details on operating days and services available.
