We are delighted to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website – wetherbytowncouncil.gov.uk. The upgraded site offers residents, businesses, and visitors a more user-friendly and efficient way to access important local information, resources, and services.
The new website features a sleek, modern design with improved navigation and accessibility, making it easier than ever to stay up to date with local news, council meetings, community events, and initiatives. Key features include:
- Streamlined Navigation: Quick access to town council news, agendas, minutes, and services.
- Event Calendar: Stay informed about community events, council meetings, and local activities.
- Report an Issue: A new tool for reporting issues directly to the relevant authorities, helping residents report concerns or service requests more quickly and accurately.
- Contact Information: Clearer ways to get in touch with the Town Council and understand who is responsible for what in the town.
- Accessible Design: A user-friendly website optimised for all users, including those with disabilities.
One major update is the Town Council’s move to a .gov.uk domain, a step that adds to the website’s credibility and trustworthiness. The .gov.uk domain is officially recognised for public sector bodies in the UK, ensuring that residents and businesses can easily identify official sources of local government information.
John Pendleton, Website Developer from Proportion Marketing, said:
“Wetherby Town Council has a small team with a big agenda. Our brief was to create an efficient, attractive, and user-friendly website that promotes Wetherby, signposts businesses and services, and improves Council communication. We’re delighted with the result and hope that residents, tourists, and businesses make this valuable resource the first port of call for all things Wetherby.”
Councillor Connor Mulhall, Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Town Council’s Communications Committee, added:
“Since listening to the feedback from residents last year, we are continuing to deliver our strategy, which the website serves as a strong foundation of the plan. It has been great to work with locally based Proportion Marketing, local community groups, and individuals who have fed into producing a modern and vibrant website.”
The launch of the new website is part of the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to transparency, communication, and community engagement and we look forward to maintaining the website for the benefit of local residents.
